Jumpers Undertake Guerilla Marketing Campaign

Jim Dolan

In November, demonstration team Skydiving Innovations had the opportunity to make jumps over downtown San Francisco as part of a guerilla marketing campaign by Freshworks, a software-development company. The first assignment was a jump from a blimp emblazoned with the company’s name. After deployment, the skydivers flew their canopies past a competing software company’s building and landed in Sue Bierman Park in the city’s financial district. Despite challenging wind conditions, the jump went off beautifully.

For the next assignment, team members Jim Dolan and Ron Lee, along with photographer Joe Jennings, exited a helicopter at night over a Fleetwood Mac concert in Oracle Park (the baseball stadium that is home to the San Francisco Giants) to tow their client’s banners. All three landed in the 53-degree waters of San Francisco Bay, where a boat met them. A video of the jumps is available at skydivinginnovations.com.
