Editors Doug Garr, Michael Kearns, Tim Long and Jan Works recently released “More Skydivers’ Stories: Close Calls and Epic Feats Above Planet Earth,” the sequel to “NSTIWTIWGD” (“No, S***, There I Was, Thought I Was Gonna Die”), a 2015 compendium of scary jump stories written primarily by old-school jumpers and compiled by Long.
When Long decided to publish a companion to the first book, he expanded the concept to include tales from the past that are adventurous and funny, along with ones that are scary. Contributors to the new book include many luminaries such as Curt Curtis, Russ Manhold, Pat Moorehead, Barbara Roquemore and Pat Works, as well as legendary freefall photographers Norman Kent, Mike McGowan, Luis Melendez and Tom Sanders. Andrey Veselov took the cover photo. The new book also includes QR (quick response) codes to access videos that accompany some of the stories.
“More Skydivers’ Stories” is available for $19.50 at Amazon.com, as well as select drop zones. As with the first effort, the editors will donate all the profits to the International Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame.
