On January 1, the Parachutists Over Phorty Society launched an updated version of its U.S. website at pops-usa.com (which jumpers can also access by clicking on the American flag at thepops.org). The organization is going green, and members can now correspond with POPS and access all forms and applications online. Members have the option of submitting the forms and applications digitally or by printing them out and mailing them in. The website also includes help videos that walk users through completing forms digitally using Adobe and that instruct users how to send videos through email. In addition, non-U.S. POPS groups may contact TopPOP James Davis at toppop-usa@gmail.com to update or add their information, including links to websites.
Also on January 1, POPS made its first increase in application costs in 52 years by raising its one-time membership fee from $25 to $30. All applicants will still become members for life with no renewal fees.
