Katie Hansen and Roberta Mancino teamed up to host the no-stress Ladies Sequential Weekend April 7-8 at Skydive Perris in California. With help from Daniel Croft, Bryan Gile, Chad Ross and David Wybenga, 18 ladies formed three groups on day one to fly freefly formations just for fun. Although weather put a damper on afternoon jumping, a few die-hards didn’t hit the patio of the Bomb Shelter Bar and were able to squeeze in one more jump before heading to nearby iFly Oceanside for an hour of tunnel time. After tunnel, the ladies enjoyed dinner, drinks and birthday cake before retiring for the evening.
Sunday morning’s marine layer didn’t seem hopeful, but it cleared, and the ladies decided to combine groups for a couple of bigger-ways. The first included a mixed base with stingers. During the second jump, everyone stayed head-down. As participants headed home, the groups dwindled, but that allowed more movement within the skydives. Hansen led angle dives while Mancino led jumps that threw dynamic and belly points into the dive flow. Collectively, the ladies agreed that a weekend free from training and stress was necessary and enjoyable!
