This jumper’s canopy opened with a built-in right-hand turn. To neutralize the turn, he used left toggle input and landed safely. Afterward, inspection of the gear and a review of video footage showed that the right link cover, which was not tacked in place, had slid up the lines and caused the right line group to bunch up, creating the turn. It is likely that the cover dislodged when the person who packed the canopy ran their fingers up the lines during the packing process.
