Tracy Barrett, the author of many books for young readers, recently turned her attention to skydiving by penning the novel “Freefall Summer.” The book, which is intended for readers age 12 and up, follows the journey of heroine Clancy Edwards—whose mother died in a skydiving accident years earlier— during her summer packing parachutes at a family-owned drop zone. Publisher Charlesbridge Teen has scheduled the release of this 272-page novel for April 3. It is available for $18 in hardback and $10 for a Kindle edition at Amazon and other retailers. Readers may also access chapter one of the novel at no charge at chapter16.org/the-whuffos-guide-to-skydiving/.
