Skydive Suffolk Acquires Two Virginia Skydiving Facilities

USPA Staff

In July, Mike and Laura Manthey, the owners of Skydive Suffolk in Virginia, acquired two other well-known Virginia skydiving facilities: Virginia Skydiving Center in Petersburg and Fredericksburg Skydiving Center. The couple purchased the facilities from the founder of both drop zones, Jim Crouch, who is retiring as a DZO. VSC is the closest skydiving facility to the state capital of Richmond and welcomes experienced jumpers, as well as tandem and AFF students. FSC, which is closer to the D.C. metropolitan area, offers tandem jumps only. VSC remains open under the new ownership while FSC is closed temporarily as the Skydive Suffolk team prepares for a relaunch in early fall.
