Garr to Receive Skydiving Museum’s Trustees’ Award

USPA Staff

The International Skydiving Museum & Hall of Fame Board of Trustees gives its Trustees’ Award to thank those who contribute services or make other gestures of goodwill to the museum. The board of trustees recently chose Doug Garr, D-2791, to receive this award. Garr helps the museum identify and engage those who can make a significant positive impact on the museum’s efforts. He actively fundraises for the museum as a representative of the Skydiver Resurrection Award, a group of more than 400 jumpers who have returned to the sport after at least a 10-year gap. Through the SRA annual spring fund drive, Garr has directed more than $16,000 to the museum. Also, Garr has written the annual biographies of the Hall of Fame inductees for Parachutist since induction of the inaugural group in 2010, as well as post-event articles highlighting the weekends’ activities.

Garr will receive the Trustees’ Award during the museum’s Skydiving Hall of Fame Celebration at Skydive Perris in California October 17-19. More than 350 skydiving enthusiasts from around the world will be in attendance at the fundraiser, which is expected to raise more than $100,000 for the museum. Registration information and a full schedule of events is available at skydivingmuseum.org.
