Wayne Cross and the staff of Meadow Peak Skydiving in Marion, Montana, played host to the 51st Annual Lost Prairie Boogie August 4-12. Three hundred skydivers made the annual pilgrimage to northwestern Montana for nine days of skydiving magic and a family reunion that is like no other.
World-class organizers from across the globe came together to help keep jumpers in the sky. And despite record-setting temperatures and smoke from local wildfires, boogie-goers set a Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving (SANS) formation skydiving state record, a Skydivers Over Sixty formation skydiving state record and an assortment of personal milestones.
The nights were filled with traditions that keep folks coming back year after year: a block party, Jell-O wrestling, trips to the Meadow Peak fire tower and especially the choruses. It’s been said before but is worth repeating: Lost Prairie … you either get it, or you don’t!
Meadow Peak Skydiving is hosting next year’s Lost Prairie Boogie August 3-11.
