Keep an Eye Out | Hard-Opening Damage

USPA Staff

This toggle keeper ripped during a hard opening, causing a premature brake release. The canopy was undamaged, and the jumper was able to avoid a cutaway by releasing the other brake. Although this jumper landed safely, this incident demonstrates how much damage a hard opening can cause and how important it is to pack and maintain your gear correctly to avoid one.
