National Director Candidate Submission Process Opens

The USPA Board of Directors is seeking a USPA member to fill a National Director vacancy on the board following the recent resignation of National Director Mike McGowan. USPA is currently accepting submissions for those who wish to be placed on the ballot. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, be a current USPA member and have at least two years of cumulative USPA membership.

To be placed on the ballot, candidates must submit the required election materials and pay the $50 filing fee to USPA Headquarters at uspa.org/election no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, May 15, 2025. The following, which must be submitted online at one time, are required:

  • Completed Director Candidate Biography form
  • An acceptable photograph
  • A non-refundable $50 filing fee.
  • Documentation of U.S. citizenship or residency. Provide one of the following from this list:
    • Current state REAL ID card
    • Current driver’s license
    • U.S. Passport
    • U.S. birth certificate
    • USCIS Certificate of Naturalization
    • USCIS Certificate of Citizenship
    • Two documents showing your address, dated within the last year (e.g., utility bills, bank statements, lease agreement). Addresses showing only P.O. boxes are not accepted.

The special election to fill the remainder of McGowan’s term, which extends through 2027, will run for two weeks only, from July 15 through July 31, 2025. The election winner is expected to attend the USPA Board of Directors Meeting September 19-21, 2025, in Arlington, Virginia.
