On January 16, Amanda Smalley, D-25783, will join the USPA staff as Director of Competition. In her role, Smalley will oversee USPA’s two major skydiving events (the USPA National Skydiving Championships and the USPA Collegiate Skydiving Championships), coordinate the U.S. Parachute Team’s participation in international competitions and administer record-setting programs for the organization, among other tasks.
Smalley began skydiving in 2000 and has been active in the sport ever since. For the past 12 years, she has worked for Skydive Sebastian in Florida, most of that time as DZ manager. Her experience coordinating logistics and managing large events at the busy DZ should be a great asset in her new position.
Smalley will be attending the USPA Board Meeting in Reno, Nevada, February 24-26 (in conjunction with the Parachute Industry Association Symposium), where she will be representing the Competition Department as a member of the USPA Headquarters staff. USPA invites all members to come meet her there!
