USPA Foreign Affiliate Skydive Empuriabrava in Spain, one of Europe’s largest drop zones, is now offsetting its carbon dioxide footprint by supporting certified climate-protection projects. As part of its social responsibility policy, the drop zone, whose aircraft fleet emits between 870 and 1,100 tons of carbon dioxide per year, has partnered with Klima Invest and the Care All Foundation to offset its emissions by investing in forest conservation projects in Brazil. As of January 1, all flights at the drop zone have become CO2 neutral, meeting the international Verified Carbon Standard.
Skydive Empuriabrava Management Team Member Juli Sargatal at media@thelandofthesky.eu can provide interested jumpers with details about implementation of the project. Information on carbon-offset projects for drop zones is also available at klima-invest.de and careallfoundation.org.
