Skydive the Falls in Youngstown, New York, hosted its first Skydive the Falls Fest September 13-15. The event was part boogie and part giveback to the fun jumpers and members of the local community who have been supportive of the new drop zone in its inaugural season. Activities included acrobatic rides over Niagara Falls and jumps out of a PT-17 Stearman biplane piloted by Chris Caruana of Windsor Aviation, helicopter jumps and—of course—a whole lot of skydiving. Food trucks, art demonstrations, live music from local artists and an evening catered by a local wine cellar and brewery rounded out the celebration. While the weather didn’t always cooperate, the event was nonetheless a success. Skydive the Falls looks forward to the 2020 Falls Fest, which promises to be even bigger and better.
