Sky’s the Limit Hosts Mystery Boogie

With the assistance of some fantastic fall weather, Sky’s the Limit in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, made the end-of-year Mystery Boogie on October 19 a hearty slice of skydiver heaven. A cloudless sky, light winds and midday temperatures in the low 60s set the stage for silly human ground tricks, a scrambles 4-way formation skydiving competition and some impressive accuracy landings. Participants also fulfilled the real aim of the Mystery Boogie: to promote mentoring and socialization between new and more seasoned skydivers by combining team-building exercises and skydiving skills.

This year’s overall event champions were Team Three (Levant Bayrasli, Chris Diamantes, Yuriy Milkhed and Karol Przybytkowski), who succeeded in winning the speedstar competition (in a record final score of six seconds), the 4-way scrambles meet and the Ode to Our Wayward Otter Poetry Slam. Second place overall went to Team Two (Gary Bird, Mike Druzhinin, Elena Mikhed and Ron Schaefer), who scored the most accuracy points. Third place went to Team One (Tia Pilikian, Danny Sherman, Jack Van Riper and Alison Ward), who raced to victory in the Stupid Human Creeper Rally. Regardless of the final standings, all the teams enjoyed a fun-filled day, and everyone went home with the famous STL Bag o’ Crap, which this year included some surprise not-so-crappy free jump tickets—a perfect ending to a wonderful skydiving season!
