Rich Delgado’s application arrived at the Skydivers Over Sixty office on the very day of his 60th birthday, making him the 2,500th SOS member.  Like many, Delgado started jumping after watching the movie “Point Break” in 1995. He took his first-jump course at Skydive Houston in Waller, Texas, and never looked back. He’s now a familiar face on the big-way circuit and has been on 21 successful state, national and world big-way formation skydiving records, including all of the 200-plus-way sequential FS world records, as well as the night 64-way FS world record. He’s also taken home 15 medals in FS from the USPA Nationals over the years. With more than 7,250 jumps, he currently shares his knowledge and experience as a load organizer at Skydive Spaceland-Houston in Rosharon, Texas. Having recently retired from a 38-year career with NASA at the Johnson Space Center, Delgado plans to indulge his desire to travel by hitting the European big-way circuit in 2022.

Established almost 30 years ago, SOS is growing at an increasingly rapid pace and, as promised from the beginning, has made regular donations of membership dues to the United States Parachute Team Trust Fund. These donations total more than $30,000 to date. More information about joining SOS is available by emailing Pat Moorehead, SOS #1, at skyfunone@aol.com.
