On Saturday, July 14, the U.S. Parachute Association became the official Host Country Affiliate of the International Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame. The USPA Board of Directors made the decision to become a partner of the Museum by committing to donate $25,000 per year for the next six years to the Museum’s fundraising efforts.
As the Host Country Affiliate, USPA will be able to prominently display a banner at the museum and share information with museum visitors about Group Member drop zones, national records and awards recipients, and USPA members will receive discounts on admission and other items.
USPA’s decision shows its continued dedication to the International Skydiving Museum’s efforts to build the museum. This latest commitment will bring USPA’s total contributions to the Museum to nearly $300,000 in both monetary and in-kind support over a 25-year period.
“USPA believes strongly in the Museum’s potential to not only capture the rich history of our sport for future generations, but also to introduce more people to skydiving and increase both participation in the sport and USPA membership,” commented USPA President Jay Stokes.
“The International Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame is thrilled to have USPA on board as the Host Country Affiliate,” remarked Museum President Curt Curtis. “USPA’s contributions are helping us make great strides toward our goal, and we hope more countries around the world will follow suit and make the museum a truly international effort.”
