Skydiving Makes the Perfect Experience Gift

It’s no secret that more and more people are turning to giving gifts of experiences instead of material things. The satisfaction of a life experience, especially one you can share with friends and family, is far more fulfilling and long-lasting than the happiness that might come from materialistic items. This cultural shift has been increasingly documented in research and news reports, including this recent article in the Chicago Tribune.

Now that we’re in the prime gift-giving season, the gift of a skydive is one of the hottest experience gifts available. Those who make a first skydive usually consider it a life-changing experience and one of the best things they’ve ever done. It’s also the perfect activity to do with a group of friends or family members. Over the past few years, the sport of skydiving has achieved record growth, while also reaching historic safety levels. Last year, the U.S. Parachute Association recorded the lowest number of skydiving fatalities—13—in the U.S. since record-keeping began more than 60 years ago, while also reaching its highest membership totals ever.

Giving the gift of a skydiving experience for the holidays is easy. Simply go to the U.S. Parachute Association website to find a USPA-affiliated skydiving center near you. You can contact the skydiving center directly or via its website to purchase a gift certificate.
