USPA Seeks New National Director

The USPA Board of Directors is seeking a USPA member to fill an upcoming board vacancy that will be created when Albert Berchtold resigns his national director seat this fall to assume the executive director position at USPA Headquarters. In November, USPA will conduct a special election among all members to fill the remainder of Berchtold’s term, which ends just prior to the winter 2022 board meeting (likely in January or February 2022).

Beginning August 3, USPA is accepting submissions for those who wished to be placed on the ballot. Current USPA members in good standing who are at least 18 years of age and have at least two years of cumulative membership are eligible for the position. Those who wish to be placed on the ballot must submit the following required election materials to USPA Headquarters no later than 5:00 PM EDT, September 14, 2020:

  • Director Candidate Biography form
  • An acceptable photograph
  • A non-refundable $50 filing fee

Candidates must submit their Director Candidate Biography Form and photograph electronically at uspa.org/election.

The special election period will run for one month only, from November 2-30. Section 1-2.3 (C) of USPA's Governance Manual describes the duties of a USPA National Director.
