Performance Textiles Sponsors U.S. Parachute Team!

USPA is happy to announce that Performance Textiles is now a proud sponsor of the 2024 U.S. Parachute Teams. These teams will compete in various world championships in Israel, South Africa, the Czech Republic and elsewhere. “USPA has made a great effort to expand support for the team,” said USPA Executive Director Albert Berchtold. “This is a first step in what we hope is a long and fruitful relationship.”

A subsidiary of Ocean State Innovations, Performance Textiles is a major U.S.-based fabric supplier, providing material for sport parachutes as well as paragliders, hot-air balloons, tents, wind blades, medical products, fuel cells, aerostats, life jackets and many other products. Their Soarcoat zero-porosity fabric is used by various parachute manufacturers.

“We’re excited to have Performance Textiles become a sponsor,” said David Mackney, the company’s senior vice president. “As a leading manufacturer of parachute fabrics in the United States, it was a natural fit for us to support our U.S. Parachute Team. The team strives for excellence in all they do, and we’re happy to help them achieve their goals, through the materials we manufacture and now in a supporting sponsorship.”

That fit is a perfect one not just because of the products Performance Textiles produces, but because of their devotion to ensuring that all fabrics are produced in the United States. They’ve long supplied the U.S. Armed Forces with a wide range of engineered and customized fabrics to meet their specific requirements. If a sport parachute was manufactured in the USA, there’s a strong possibility Performance Textiles was involved in the process. “Durability and safety over the life of products is our expertise,” added Mackney.

The sponsorship includes direct support to athletes attending the 2024 Fédération Aéronautique Internationale World Championships, as well as long-term support through the U.S. Parachute Team Trust Fund.
