Shanon Searls Joins USPA as Director of Sport Promotion

USPA has selected Shanon Searls as its new Director of Sport Promotion, succeeding Nancy Koreen, who has served in this position for 10 years. Searls’ start date is December 17.

Searls became a USPA member in 2010 and has since logged just over 1,000 jumps. She is a USPA AFF Instructor and Coach and an FAA Senior Rigger. She also enjoys wingsuiting, freeflying and formation skydiving. Searls brings to USPA 11 years of marketing experience in the outdoor, natural foods and vacation rental industries. Recently, she has served as the marketing and public relations manager for Exotic Estates, a boutique vacation rental company, where she led demand and lead generation, as well as marketing communications strategies. Having recently received her Master’s in Business from Colorado State University, Searls has amassed skills in media planning, creative direction, business development and strategic marketing.

In January 2019, Searls joined the USPA Board as a National Director and will resign her position on December 16, prior to becoming a staff member. At its January 2020 meeting, the USPA Board of Directors will select a person to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the board term.

“I am truly honored and thrilled to serve our members and the board of directors in this capacity,” said Searls. “While I am saddened to leave my seat on the board, I know my professional experience will be greatly utilized as we move into the next phase of sport promotion.”

“Shanon’s previous marketing experience will propel USPA forward as we promote the sport of skydiving, building on Nancy’s lasting legacy that has done so much to foster a positive image of skydiving among the public,” said Ed Scott, USPA’s Executive Director.
