Paper Shortage to Delay Parachutist Magazine

The print house that produces Parachutist has notified USPA of a worldwide paper shortage that will delay the production and mailing of the November issue by about three weeks. The unavailability of the magazine’s paper stock, as well as any comparable paper stock, is a result of an almost complete shutdown of domestic and foreign print-paper mills during the pandemic, as well as other disruptions to the global supply chain. The November issue, which was set to have an in-house date of October 30-November 3, now is expected to arrive in mailboxes between November 20-24. However, the full November issue will be available digitally as a “flipbook” at parachutist.com on November 1. The paper shortages may also delay the December 2021 and January 2022 issues, although at this point it is unclear to what extent.
