Skydivers Set World Record at 42,917 Feet

On Saturday, September 13 at West Tennessee Skydiving in Whiteville, Dr. Artaj Singh and tandem instructor Thomas Oquinns, D-408403, set an official Guinness World Record for the Highest Tandem Parachute Jump from 42,917 feet.

Dr. Singh, a practicing physician from Canada, is also a pilot and a Canadian and U.S. Aviation Medical Examiner.

USPA National Director Mike Mullins piloted a Cheyenne 400 for the record-setting jump, with Southern Region Director Paul Gholson serving as oxygen jumpaster. Videographers Tylor Flurry and Denton Kooyman captured the action in freefall.
