FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Certain Vector SE Containers

On April 22, the Federal Aviation Administration adopted an Airworthiness Directive for certain United Parachute Technologies Vector SE harness-and-container systems. Models V3SE-360-1, V3SE-360-2, V3SE-360-3, V3SE-361, V3SE-364 and V3SE-364-1 with a date of manufacture after April 30, 2013, and before February 1, 2021, may have a reserve parachute pin cover that catches and prevents the reserve parachute from deploying. The cost of compliance with a previously issued UPT Service Bulletin is estimated at $85 to $114 per parachute system. The AD becomes effective on May 7, with more information available in the Federal Register
