On August 19, USPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Director presented Joey Freeman, D-23490, with the USPA Regional Achievement Award at Skydive Carolina in Chester, South Carolina. The USPA Board of Directors voted to honor Freeman with the award for the Mid-Atlantic Region at its summer meeting in Spokane, Washington.

Freeman, an AFF and Coach Examiner, is PRO rated and an at-large Safety and Training Advisor for the region. He is also a world-class 4-way and 8-way formation skydiving competitor and, in July, received his 9,000-Jump Wings and 144-Hour Freefall Badge. The citation on his award reads, “For his dedication to the safety of the skydiving community as a USPA Safety and Training Advisor and AFF Instructor and Examiner, and for his continued willingness to help others.”
