Jumpers Over Seventy Set Record

On October 18, a normal sunny day, a group of four jumpers over the age of 70 did something not so normal: They set a world record. Videographer Mike Anderson captured the 18-point 4-way formation performed by Kim Dobson, Rodney Flannery, Larry Stein and Van Wideman over Skydive DeLand in Florida. The team set various state, national and world Parachutists Over Phorty Society, Skydivers Over Sixty and Jumpers Over Seventy records in the sequential and total-break sequential categories.

They feel they have the potential to break this new 4-way record and set more records—especially JOS records—in the future with larger groups. The record-setters encourage other jumpers over 70 years old to also get out there and continue to show the younger jumpers, and the world, that people of a mature age can still be out there setting and breaking records!
